Aquilaria Malaccensis

Seedlings

$15.00

Aquilaria malaccensis is a tropical evergreen tree native to South and Southeast Asia. It is the primary species responsible for producing natural agarwood, a highly valuable and aromatic resin used in perfumes, traditional medicine, and cultural rituals.

When the tree is naturally wounded or infected by certain fungi, it produces a dark resin as a defense response. This resin-rich wood, known as agarwood, is rare and sought after worldwide. Due to overharvesting in the wild, Aquilaria malaccensis is now classified as critically endangered and is protected under international law.

Licensed cultivation of this species supports conservation efforts, ensuring that agarwood can be produced sustainably without harming natural forests.
